A signal needs a clear timestamp and conditions
A XAUUSD signal is a trade idea about Gold quoted against the US dollar. A useful post explains whether an entry is immediate or conditional, what invalidates the idea and when it expires. A direction such as buy Gold without those details is difficult to evaluate consistently.
Read the original Telegram post and subsequent updates. If price has already moved, the original entry and reward-to-risk relationship may no longer be available. Screenshots forwarded without a timestamp or the surrounding conversation can omit the context needed to judge a setup.
A worked example of a late entry
Suppose a fictional long setup specifies entry at 2,500, stop at 2,490 and target at 2,520. Before costs, the intended price-distance reward-to-risk ratio is 20 divided by 10, or 2:1. These prices are hypothetical, not a current market call.
If someone instead enters at 2,510 with the same stop and target, the potential target distance becomes 10 while the stop distance becomes 20: a 0.5:1 ratio before costs. This arithmetic does not predict whether either trade will win. It shows why the same message can lead to different outcomes for readers who act at different times.
Check the full record, including updates
- Look for losses, cancelled ideas and expired setups alongside winning examples.
- Check whether an entry actually became available after publication; a target touched before the post is not a follower's result.
- Record how partial exits and multiple targets are counted. One setup should not silently become several full-sized winning trades.
- Keep the original stop and any later changes in the record. A revised stop changes the risk and should not disappear from the summary.
- Treat a win-rate percentage without dates, trade count and a consistent calculation method as incomplete evidence.
Match the message to the broker's instrument
Broker symbols may use suffixes, and contract size, quote precision and trading conditions should be checked in the platform. A price distance is not the same thing as cash risk. Trade volume, contract specification, commission and fill prices all affect the eventual account result.
A stop-loss is a protective instruction rather than a guarantee of the requested exit price. Evaluate educational examples on demo before relying on them, and do not assume a channel's position size applies to a different account.
Signals and Expert Advisors are different services
Following a Telegram channel does not automatically execute trades. An MT5 Expert Advisor runs programmed rules inside the platform; copying a manual signal requires a separate decision or a separate integration. Clarify which service is actually being offered before paying for access or installing software.
